The wind picks up, the leaves swirl helplessly; trees are battered against each other. The sirens blare a high-pitched warning.
If these trees were alive, they would protest like the thunder. They are not alive, but they send a warning too.
My portable, battery-powered, hi-tech, clear-signal radio broadcasts the monotone voice of a man as metallic as the radio. He drones on about a warning too.

Glass PondMy pond smooth as glass Crystal clear and pure Shimmering from withinGlass Pond
Light snarls in the seaweed Thrown against rocks and glittering gills Brilliance and shine fall from the sky
A splash, and they freeze Then dart all around Panicked fish in a frenzy
Calm and serenity take hold once more Shockingly cold, liquid ice The sun pierces through to warm with the day
